General

What is Echlon?

Echlon is a cross-border financial platform that lets businesses and individuals receive and send payments across multiple currencies, hold a balance, and manage money from a single account. Echlon is a financial technology platform, not a bank — regulated financial activities are handled by licensed banking partners. → What is Echlon

Is it Echlon or Echelon?

The company is Echlon — spelled E-C-H-L-O-N, with no second "e". Echlon is a cross-border financial platform at echlon.xyz. Echlon has no affiliation with Echelon Payments, Echelon Fitness, or Echelon Corporation, which are unrelated companies with similar names.

Who can use Echlon?

Echlon serves businesses and individuals in supported jurisdictions, currently including the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, and many more. Users must be 18 or older and pass verification. → Prohibited Activities & Jurisdictions

Is Echlon a bank?

Echlon is not a bank. Echlon is a financial technology company that provides the platform and interface connecting users to licensed banking and financial institution partners. Currency conversion, payment processing, and compliance are handled by those partners.

Can Echlon be used for both personal and business purposes?

Echlon offers services for both individuals and businesses, with one account per tax ID. A business account is opened under the company's registration and a personal account under the individual's. Both account types can have access to virtual account details, payments, currency movement, virtual cards, and Treasury. → Getting started

Does using Echlon require technical or crypto knowledge?

No technical or crypto knowledge is required to use Echlon. The platform works like a modern banking app, using standard currencies and familiar banking concepts. The underlying technology is explained separately for users who want the detail. → Blockchain & stablecoins

Is there an Echlon mobile app?

Echlon is currently a web application accessible from any browser, including mobile browsers. A dedicated mobile app is in our roadmap but not available yet.

Does Echlon have an API?

Echlon offers API access to customers who want to connect payments and payouts to their own systems. The reference covers payouts, recipients, transfers, cashout provisioning, API keys and webhooks. Access is arranged per account, with a developer API key issued from your Echlon account once it's enabled. To request it, speak to your relationship manager or email [email protected].

Where are my funds held?

Your funds are held in your own dedicated wallet and belong to you, separate from Echlon's operations — see Wallets & keys.

What happens to my money if Echlon shuts down?

Your money stays with you. Your funds are held in your own non-custodial wallet — they don't depend on Echlon continuing to operate. If Echlon were to cease operating, your funds would still be accessible. Your money is never at risk due to the status of the platform itself.

How is Echlon different from PayPal, Wise, or Payoneer?

Echlon is purpose-built for cross-border businesses and individuals in underserved markets, especially Latin America. Key differences:

  • An FX spread of less than 0.5% on most corridors (compared to 1–3.5% on most platforms)
  • Your funds are held in your own custody, not pooled with the platform's money — see Wallets & keys for more details.
  • Recipients do not need an Echlon account to receive funds
  • Treasury yield (when you allocate on the Treasury page) and card products are accessible directly from one account
  • No account fees or monthly fees — transaction costs (FX spread and partner processing fees) are passed through transparently and shown before you confirm
Is the platform available in my language?

Yes. Echlon supports localized languages to serve users in their preferred language.

Getting started and verification

How does a business open an Echlon account?

You can open an Echlon account directly at echlon.xyz — click Open Account and choose business. There's no waitlist and no sales call. You'll confirm your email, set up MFA, accept the partner bank's terms, then upload documents. Have company registration, tax ID, proof of address and bank statements ready, plus ID for anyone who owns 25% or more. Most are approved within three business days. → Getting started

What documents does Echlon need to verify a business?

Echlon runs a KYB (Know Your Business) review before approving a business account. This normally covers company registration documents, proof of address, ownership and control structure including ultimate beneficial owners, and identity verification for directors and significant shareholders. Requirements vary by country of incorporation. → Verification

What is KYB, and why does Echlon require it?

KYB, or Know Your Business, verifies that a business is real, legally registered, and controlled by the people it says control it. Regulated financial providers are required to complete KYB before opening business accounts, under anti-money-laundering rules. Echlon completes KYB before approving any business account. → Verification

How is KYB different from KYC?

KYC (Know Your Customer) verifies an individual person. KYB (Know Your Business) verifies a company: its registration, its ownership structure, and the people who ultimately control it. A full KYB review includes KYC checks on the individuals behind the business. → Verification

How long does Echlon verification take?

Echlon reviews most applications within 3–5 business days. That window starts once your documents are complete, so the most common cause of delay is a missing or unclear document rather than the review itself. Requirements differ by country, and some applications need additional checks. Approval depends on identity verification and compliance review. → Verification

Why does Echlon ask about source of funds?

Two reasons. Echlon has anti-money-laundering obligations, and we want to understand how your business actually works. Knowing the money is coming in from sales, or investment, or a loan lets us see the account is being used the way you described when you signed up. Every account gets the same questions. → Source of funds

Payments

How is an Echlon account funded?

Once verified, an Echlon account receives virtual account details — bank-style account and routing information. Funds sent to those details from an existing bank settle into the Checking balance. Supported funding rails include ACH, Wire, SWIFT, SEPA, PIX, and many more. → Receiving payments

What countries can Echlon send money to?

Echlon currently sends payments to the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, and many more. Payments can only be created to countries where Echlon has an active payment rail and the customer has been approved by the licensed partner. → Receiving payments

How long do Echlon transfers take?

Settlement times depend on the rail and destination. Domestic USD transfers over Domestic Wire typically settle the same day to one business day. International transfers over SWIFT take one to five business days. Local rails such as PIX and SPEI can settle as fast as the same day. → Receiving payments

Does the recipient need an Echlon account?

Recipients do not need an Echlon account. Echlon sends payments to anyone in a supported corridor, and funds arrive directly in the recipient's local currency in their existing bank account.

Can an Echlon account receive payments from multiple clients?

An Echlon account's virtual account details can be shared with as many senders as needed. All incoming payments settle into the same Checking balance. → Receiving payments

What happens if an Echlon payment fails?

Funds from a failed payment are returned to the Checking balance automatically. Payments fail most often because of incorrect bank details or an issue on the recipient's end. The transaction details in the dashboard show the reason. → Troubleshooting

Can an Echlon payment be canceled after it is sent?

A confirmed Echlon payment is generally final and cannot be cancelled, because payments are submitted to banking partners for processing immediately. If a payment cannot be delivered, funds are refunded automatically to the Checking balance. Payments sent in error should be reported to [email protected] as soon as possible. → Troubleshooting

Can Echlon payments be tracked?

The status and details of every Echlon transaction are visible in the transaction history in the dashboard. → Tracking an inbound payment

Can I send money to myself at another bank?

Yes. You can send payments to any bank account in a supported corridor, including your own. Simply enter your own bank details as the recipient.

Currencies and fees

What currencies does Echlon support?

Echlon currently supports USD, EUR, BRL, MXN, COP, and ARS for conversion and sending, with GBP, AED, HKD, SGD, and CAD in progress. Account balances are held in USDC and converted at the point of payment. → Your balances

What does Echlon cost?

Echlon charges no account fees, no monthly fees, and no minimum transaction amounts. Costs are the FX spread, which is under 0.5% on most corridors and varies by market, plus any banking partner processing fees, which are passed through. These costs are shown before a payment is confirmed. If we have to update the price before sending, the amount taken from your balance can change. → Fees & limits

Cards

Does Echlon offer cards?

Echlon offers virtual cards for both business and personal accounts. Cards are created directly in the platform, with its own card balance, and are issued through a licensed card partner. → Cards

How do Echlon card balances work?

Echlon cards have a separate balance topped up from the checking account, so the full checking balance is never directly exposed to card spend. → Cards

Can an Echlon account create more than one card?

An Echlon account can create multiple virtual cards. Businesses use this to separate spend by team member, project, vendor, or expense category. → Cards

What are the fees on Echlon card transactions?

Echlon cards carry no fees on USD-denominated purchases and no monthly maintenance fees. An FX spread applies to transactions in other currencies. → Cards — Card fees

Why was an Echlon card declined?

A card can be declined when the card balance is too low for the transaction, or when the merchant is in a restricted category. The card's balance and transaction details in the dashboard show which applies. → Card declined

Do Echlon cards work with Apple Pay and Google Pay?

Yes. Echlon cards work with both Apple Pay and Google Pay. You add the card in Wallet or Google Wallet by entering the details, then confirm with a one-time code we email you. After that it's the same card — same balance, same spending controls, and if you lock it, the wallet stops too. Availability varies by country. → Apple Pay & Google Pay

What card network will Echlon use?

Cards will be issued on the Visa network via a licensed card partner — accepted worldwide wherever Visa is accepted.

Treasury

How does Echlon Treasury work?

Echlon Treasury lets a user move USD from the checking balance into a yield product. Nothing is allocated without confirmation or pre-approved permission. Yield then accrues automatically inside the product, and balances can be redeemed at any time with no lock-up period. → Treasury

What yield do Echlon Treasury products pay?

Echlon Treasury yield is variable and is not guaranteed. Rates change with market conditions. The current rate for each product is shown in the platform before a deposit is confirmed, so the rate is always visible before any money moves. → Treasury

What are the fees for Echlon Treasury?

Echlon charges no monthly account fees on Treasury. Individual Treasury products may charge an annual management fee that depends on the pool or strategy, and there is no performance fee. Applicable fees are disclosed before a deposit is confirmed. → Treasury

Can funds be withdrawn from Echlon Treasury at any time?

Echlon Treasury has no lock-up periods, and redeemed funds return to the checking balance. Redemptions are processed quickly in normal conditions; in rare cases of extreme market disruption, redemption may be delayed while positions are unwound. → Treasury

Are there tax implications for Echlon Treasury yield?

Echlon Treasury yield may have tax implications depending on the user's jurisdiction. Echlon does not provide tax advice, and users should consult a qualified tax professional. → Treasury

Is Treasury available in my country?

Treasury availability may vary by jurisdiction and account type based on legal, regulatory, and partner requirements. If Treasury isn't available for your account, you will see that in-product.

Will there be investment options beyond Treasury?

Yes. We plan to offer an Investments section where you can access stocks, digital assets, and tokenized real-world assets. This will be separate from Treasury and announced when available.

Security and account

How does Echlon protect funds and accounts?

Echlon applies several layers: funds are held in the user's own wallet, all data is encrypted at rest and in transit, MFA is required on all accounts, and transactions are monitored in real time by Echlon and its compliance monitoring partners. → Security & your account

Are funds on Echlon insured?

Echlon accounts are not covered by FDIC, FSCS, or equivalent deposit insurance, because funds are held in the user’s own wallet rather than a traditional bank deposit account. This gives direct ownership of funds, but means deposit insurance does not apply. → Risk Disclosure & Platform Disclaimer

What should a user do if they suspect unauthorized access?

Users who suspect unauthorized access should contact [email protected] immediately and mark the subject line as urgent. Echlon may suspend the account to prevent further unauthorized activity while the issue is investigated.

Why would an Echlon account be suspended?

Echlon may suspend accounts for compliance or regulatory reasons, and in some cases is legally unable to disclose the specific reason. Users who believe a suspension is in error should contact [email protected]. → My account is restricted — what now?

How does a user close an Echlon account?

Closing an Echlon account requires withdrawing all balances and cancelling pending transactions first, after which the account can be closed from account settings. → Closing your account

How does a user contact Echlon support?

Echlon support is reached at [email protected]. Messages should include the account email and a description of the issue, with urgent matters such as unauthorized access marked in the subject line.
