Your balances

Checking as your USDC hub, isolated card balances, Treasury only with your confirmation or pre-approved permission, and instant moves between your own balances.

Your balances

Echlon gives you three types of balances, each designed for a different purpose. Your Checking balance is your main balance — everything flows through it.

Checking

Your primary balance. This is where your money lives by default.

  • Receive payments from clients, employers, or anyone sending you money.
  • Send payments to recipients in supported local currencies.
  • Hold balances in USDC (more stablecoins coming soon).
  • Transfer to your Cards or Treasury balances at any time.

Think of Checking as your everyday operating balance. If you only use one part of Echlon, this is it.

Cards

Echlon cards draw on a dedicated Card balance. To fund your cards, you move funds from Checking into the Card balance.

  • The Card balance is separate from Checking — you control exactly how much is available for card spend.
  • Top up from Checking instantly, any time.
  • Set spend limits per card on top of the balance.
  • Unused funds can be moved back to Checking.
Why separate balances? This gives you precise control over spending. A card can never overdraw your Checking balance — it can only spend what you've allocated to it.

See Cards for details on virtual cards, spend controls, and fees (user guide).

Treasury

You only earn Treasury yield on USD you deliberately move from Checking. On the Treasury page, pick a yield tier, enter an amount, and confirm a deposit — checking does not earn Treasury yield by default, and nothing moves without your confirmation or pre-approved permission.

  • Choose between Conservative Treasury or a higher-yield product that carries additional risk.
  • You can request a redemption back to Checking at any time with no penalty. Processing timing is not guaranteed, and delays are possible during abnormal market or protocol conditions (see Treasury).
  • After you deposit, yield accrues automatically inside Treasury and is visible in your dashboard.

See Treasury for details on yield tiers, risks, and how it works.

Transferring between accounts

Transfers between Checking and Cards are instant and free. Treasury redemptions are different: you can request one at any time, but processing timing is not guaranteed and delays are possible.

FromToHow
CheckingCardsDashboard → Cards → Top Up
CardsCheckingDashboard → Cards → Withdraw
CheckingTreasuryDashboard → Treasury → Deposit
TreasuryCheckingDashboard → Treasury → Withdraw

Transfers between Checking and Cards settle instantly with no fees. Treasury redemptions follow the separate timing described above.

Account overview

Your dashboard shows all three account types and their balances at a glance. Your total balance is the sum of Checking + Cards + Treasury balances.
