Requesting higher limits

What evidence supports a limit increase, how to submit it, and how limits are re-evaluated as your account history grows.

Why this happens

Limits exist because regulators, banking partners, and card networks require payment volumes to be proportionate to a business's verified profile. A new account with little history starts with conservative limits; as verified volume and documentation grow, limits can grow with them.

Evidence that supports an increase

The strongest requests show that your expected volume is real and explainable:

  • Bank statements (3–6 recent months) from your business accounts showing comparable volumes
  • Invoices or client contracts that explain the upcoming payments — especially the specific large payment that prompted the request
  • Projected volume — a short, concrete description: expected monthly volume, average and maximum payment sizes, corridors, and counterparties
  • Marketplace or processor payout reports, if your revenue comes from platforms

Tip: Include the amount, recipient, payment purpose, and any supporting documents (such as invoices or contracts) when submitting a limit increase request. Providing context helps our team assess and process requests more efficiently.

How to submit a request

  1. Gather the supporting documentation listed above.
  2. Email your request and supporting documents to [email protected], along with a brief description of your expected transaction volume and business activity.
  3. Our team will review the information and may contact you if additional documentation is required.

Reviews are conducted in conjunction with our banking and payment partners. As a result, review and approval timelines may vary depending on the requirements and processing times of those partners.

How limits are re-evaluated over time

  • Consistent, well-documented activity builds the case for higher limits — sometimes without you asking.
  • Long inactivity, returned payments, or unresolved document requests can pause increases.
  • Material changes to your business (new ownership, new markets) may require re-verification before limits change. See Updating your business or personal details.

Common questions

Will my request be visible to anyone outside Echlon?

Limit decisions can involve our banking partners' risk requirements, and the evidence you provide may be reviewed in that context. It's handled under the same confidentiality as your verification documents.

I was declined. Can I reapply?

Yes — the decline message will indicate what was missing where we're able to share it. Address that gap (usually more recent or more complete documentation) and resubmit.

Do limits apply to receiving money too?

There are no set limits on receiving. Large inbound transfers may be held for standard compliance review by our banking partners.
