Updating your details
The process and documents required to change your legal name, email, business address, ownership or control persons, or entity structure.
Why this happens
Your verified details aren't just profile information — they're the legal identity behind your payments, your cards, and your standing with banking partners. Regulations require those details to stay accurate, which is why identity-level changes need supporting documents and sometimes a re-verification.
Business address change
- What's needed: a recent proof of the new address — utility bill, lease, or bank statement in the business's name.
- If the registered address changed in your formation documents, include the updated registry document (e.g., amended Contrato Social, updated Certificado de Existencia).
Legal name change (business or personal)
- Business rename: the registered amendment showing the change (e.g, state amendment certificate in the US, or amended Contrato Social/Estatuto) plus the updated tax registry document (CNPJ card, IRS letter, etc.).
- Personal name change (owner/signatory): updated government ID plus the legal document supporting the change (e.g, marriage certificate, court order).
Heads up: name changes propagate to your cards and payment details. Expect card reissuance and update any saved payment details with counterparties after the change.
Ownership or control-person changes — triggers re-verification
Changes to who owns or controls the business (new partners, share transfers, new directors or legal representatives) require re-verification of the new structure. Expect to provide:
- The registered amendment documenting the change (amended contrato social, acta de asamblea, updated certificado, board resolution, or equivalent)
- Government ID for each new beneficial owner or control person
- For corporate owners: formation documents for each layer until individual owners are visible
Entity restructuring
Converting entity type (e.g., LTDA → S.A., LLC → C-Corp), redomiciling, or replacing the contracting entity entirely is the most involved change. Contact support before the restructuring completes — depending on the case, it's handled as a re-verification of the existing account or as a new account with a guided migration.
Common questions
How long does it take to update my account details?
Most updates are reviewed within a few business days. More significant changes, such as ownership updates or legal entity changes, may require additional review and documentation.
Can I continue using my account while my update is being reviewed?
In most cases, yes. However, certain changes may require additional verification and could temporarily affect specific account features until the review is complete.
What documents might be required when updating account information?
The documents required depend on the type of change requested. We may ask for updated company documents, proof of address, identification documents, or ownership information to verify the update.
