Recognizing scams & phishing

The only official Echlon channels, what Echlon will never ask for, the scam patterns targeting fintech users, and how to report impersonation.

The two rules:

  • Echlon will NEVER ask for your seed phrase, private key, password, or MFA codes. Not to verify you, not to release a payment, not to fix a problem. Anyone asking for these is a scammer — end the conversation.
  • Only trust the official channels listed below. Anything else claiming to be Echlon isn't.

Official Echlon channels — the complete list

If a message comes from any other email address, phone number, or social account — even one using Echlon's name and logo — treat it as fake.

Common scam patterns

  • Fake support. You post about a problem publicly (Twitter/X, Telegram, Discord) and "Echlon support" DMs you offering help — then asks for your seed phrase or sends a "validation" link.
  • Urgent security alerts. "Your account will be suspended in 24 hours — verify now" with a link to a lookalike site that harvests your login or seed phrase. Real notices appear in the app too; check there.
  • Payment-release fees. "Your transfer is held; pay a release fee / tax / unlock charge." Echlon never charges fees through outside payment links to release a transaction.
  • Lookalike domains. echlon-support.com, echlon.xyz.verify-account.net, misspellings. Check the domain character by character; bookmark the real one.
  • Fake wallet apps and "sync" tools. Apps or sites asking you to "import" or "synchronize" your wallet with the seed phrase. Entering it gives them your money.
  • Invoice redirection. A "supplier" emails new payment details from a compromised or lookalike address. Always confirm changed payment details by trusted source.

Why this happens

Cross-border and card payments often can't be reversed once they're sent, which makes fintech users a frequent target. Scammers manufacture urgency ("act now"), fear ("account suspended"), or greed ("guaranteed yield") to make you skip verification. Any message pushing you to act immediately deserves a slow, suspicious read.

If you receive a suspicious message

  1. Don't click links, download attachments, or reply.
  2. Verify independently: open the Echlon app directly (not via the message's link) and check for the same notice, or contact support through an official channel.
  3. Report it (see below), then block the sender.

How to report impersonation

  • Forward phishing emails and screenshots of fake accounts/sites to [email protected].
  • Include the sender's address/number/handle and the lookalike URL if there is one — these let us pursue takedowns.
  • Also report fake profiles to the platform they appear on (WhatsApp, Instagram, X, etc.).

Common questions

Echlon messaged me first on WhatsApp. Is that real?

Only if it's from the single official number above. Verify the number digit by digit. When in doubt, ignore it and contact support yourself via email - [email protected]

Can Echlon recover funds I sent to a scammer?

Once a payment leaves your account it generally can't be reversed — by anyone, including Echlon. This is why prevention is everything. We can review the activity and act on our side, and if this happens, we recommend reporting to local police.
